A Truthful Letter

Heyu,

How’ve you been?
I’ve just been thinking about you lately. I know you might be feeling like you’re all alone and that no one understands the hardships you’re going through. But I just want you to know that isn’t true.
    You’re never alone.
One of the biggest misconceptions is that we’re going this road on our own, that no one could possibly understand what we’re going through and that it will be impossible for us to ever achieve our dreams.
I just wanted to say that isn’t so.
Because, Jesus is always with you, and He understands your strife; your fear is His fear, your pain is His suffering, the road you’re walking He’s walking it with you, and the mountain you’re climbing, He’s climbing it, too.
So please, friend, dry your tears and brush away your fears, because you’re going to be okay. He’s there with you, and hey, you’ve got me, too. And you can do anything you want to do!
Ah there it is; there’s that smile I was looking for! See? You’re good to go, everything will be alright; all you needed was a little truth to let in the light!

Ok, I’ve gotta go, will write to you soon

An Encouraging Truth

You can do anything,
No ifs, ands or buts.
You can do anything you put your mind to,
And if you love it enough,
And you try your best,
I’m telling you, you will succeed!
Whatever project you’re contemplating,
Contemplate no more.
Whatever new thing you long to try,
Long no longer.
Because, you have the strength to go all the way to the top!
You have the willpower that will never ever stop!
You exceed the capability,
So go achieve your possibility!
The world is yours; go claim it,
Because, honey, you’re well equipped.
You can do anything through Jesus Christ who strengthens you.
So go be that beautiful,
Strong,
Capable,
You!

Go Be It!

It’s not enough to just think about it.
Doing is half the battle.

I mean, our words Are very powerful but there’s no point keeping them inside our heads! If we decide: “I’m gonna have more fun this summer, watch less TV, and go live life” but all we do is sit and think about it (probably while we’re still watching TV) well, that ain’t gonna get the job done!
You have to go out and do it!

I was having a bad day one day, you know, in one of those sour moods that not even chocolate can fix (you know what I mean girls, ;) and I kept thinking: “I need to have more fun. I’m going to be happy and have fun. Ok, why am I not happy yet or having any fun?!”

Well, I could waste all my breath on just thinking I was going to have fun
and deciding to be happy,
but I was just going around in circles!

Nothing changed until I actually got up, went outside and “accidentally” got myself into a water fight. I tend to be an, ahem, let’s say ‘mischievous’ person and manage to get myself into those scrapes a lot, but as soon as I was actually out there goofing around and throwing water (ok, running from water) then I finally felt better!
All because I was out there doing it

God is teaching me right now that our words Are powerful, and the words of our thoughts can change our mindset and our mindset cAn chAnge our lives, but that water fight made me realize, to get from point A (I want to be happier) to point B (hey look, I’m happier!) we have to get up and actually do it! And this mentality can be applied to all aspects of our lives.

Thinking is the easy part.

But it’s the doing that gets the job done

and just verbalizing it isn’t enough;

you’ve got to act out the verb!

Doing makes the change and change makes the world a better place, in your life and in mine, so I resolve to do more doing, to be a doer not just a thinker, and to start making things happen. I resolve to go be whatever it is I’m meant to be.
Because that’s how Dreams come true

Vanquished: the Block of the Writer

It’s funny how you can be struggling with writer’s block for

hours,
                                         days,
even weeks
and you try and try and try,
until your eyes burn
and your fingers cramp
and your brain turns to mush
but you just can’t write and then…

BAM!

Something happens, you get an idea, and the words come in a rush and it’s suddenly like a Hallelujah chorus!

Bliss
I think that’s a pretty good word to describe it
J

Guess I don’t need to tell you that MY WRITER’S BLOCK IS GONE! Cause you probably already figured that out, but just so you know MY WRITER’S BLOCK IS FINALLY GONE! Did you get that? MY WRITER’S… oh you got it? Ok, lol.

Yah, I’m stoked.

And all it took was for me to stop trying (I think that was tip #3 in my 10 Totally Tantalizing Tips to Unblocking Writer’s Block) and a lot of prayer (tip number #10) but at long last my mind relaxed enough and now the words are floooooowwwwwing!

Praise the Lord, isn’t He great?

Ah inspiration, how I’ve missed thee. Even though I’m a little rusty, I’m also excited because I have two short stories (one of which I’m in the middle of) that I can’t wait to share with you. They’re going to be epic, so be on the lookout for those coming very soon!

Writer’s block
It’s probably one of the most frustrating things in the world.
It comes, and it goes,
ebbing and flowing with the tides of our thoughts,
but this time it was NOT here to stay!

Now all the creativity that had been blocked up inside me has burst forth (I have so many new projects I can’t wait to share here!). So if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to embark on one of those adventures right now! But let me just say this:

This summer is going to be absolutely fantastic!

A Truth about Smiley You :)

Aw, look at your smile! How beautiful it is. If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then the smile is the thumbprint of the heart, and the thumbprint of your smile definitely portrays that your heart is wonderful. It is truly a blessing from above; you have every right in life to show it and share it with the world! J

Dear, Dads

To all and every dad, thank you, for what you do, for who you are… for everything!

Thank you for leading us, for loving us, for sharing your wisdom and guidance with us. Thank you for being our strengths and our playmates, our teachers and our friends.
J
I certainly wouldn’t be the person I am today without my Dad, he taught me to work but also to play, to not only look to the future but to also see today, and he taught me how to laugh if things get tough, and how to believe in myself if the going gets rough.

So thank you to all dads for everything you do,
We love you!
And
Happy Father’s Day!

With love,
From a daddy’s daughter
P.S. I love you Dad!

Carpe-ing that Diem!

Look at this beautiful, wonderful day that the Lord has blessed us with,

Isn’t it amazing?

How the sun knows when to rise, and how the birds know to sing in the morning, and how the sky becomes a kaleidoscope of artist’s paintspurples, pinks and bluesall vibrantly mixed to create the dawn?

Each day is a gift, and the dawn is the package it comes in. He wants us to enjoy our present to the fullest (don’t bother with keeping the wrapping paper, either, lol) and we should accept this gift of His to enjoy with all our Hearts.

Because it is truly a shame to just go through life living from motion-to-motion or notion-to-notion, I mean, where’s the fun in that?

Jesus didn’t die so we could just live; He died so we could thrive!

So today, don’t say “no” to anything that you want to do, but grab every opportunity that comes your way! It’s an art ~ like the sunrise ~ to seize the moment, every moment, no matter what, and we should all practice that art more often.

‘Cause all we have is this second,
this instant in time,
and each breath we take,
each step we make,
is another one closer to Him,
so we really should Carpe Diem!

It’s all in the Journey

Have you ever wanted something so deeply,
                    so strongly,
so unbelievably badly
that it was all you could think about?

Have you ever had a dream that seemed too big,

Too Wild,
too impossibly grand,

and you felt like you were going crazy striving to achieve it,

but you entertained it anyways?

Have you ever had a Dream that felt so close you could nearly smell it?

Ahh, I can practically smell the ink! But my book is still in my computer.

publication is my unbelievably, big, wild, impossibly grand dream and it’s been harder than I thought it would be to strive for. I mean, I knew it would be hard, yet I didn’t think it would be this difficult. But,
no one said it would be easy.
There are moments when I feel like this is impossible, like it’s too far away. There are moments (especially lately considering the writer’s block) when I think "maybe I’m not good enough" and I ask myself “why bother?”
But then, I remember THe reason I started wriTing to begin wiTH, back when I was playing storybook games on my computer when I was little:

I love it

A dream worth having is a dream worth fighting for, and that’s a good enough excuse to keep trying!
Even though it’s hard, I need to keep researching publishers and agents until I find someone. Even if I hit fifty dead ends, or submit a hundred times and get rejected a hundred times, I can’t give up.

Because with enough
determination
and
perseverance

you can accomplish anything through
Jesus Christ,

and I know a kid like me can make something BIG happen -- something awesome -- we could even change the world!

I mean, why not?

Besides, I have way too many ideas for my own good and I’m gonna go nuts (or more so, depending on who you’re talking to) if I don’t at least try to do something with them!

I just want my voice to be heard,
to tell my story
and that’s not going to happen
if my words stay put on my hard-drive,
especially if my tongue keeps saying "it’s too hard".

Cause it isn’t the destination
but the journey getting there
that makes a trip an adventure.

So watch out world! Because this author doesnt know the meaning of the words give up"!
So let’s see where that mentality takes us…

Matthew: 7:7-8
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
