Above You

Keep looking up!

When you look up you can see "Hey, the sun is shining!”

When you look up, it keeps your head above water.

When you look up it keeps you from walking into something.

When you keep looking up at the sky and the clouds and the sun smiling bright, it’s hard to ever feel down.

So keep looking up!

A Positively Positive Poem

Every cloud has a silver lining
And after every storm there’s a rainbow shining
From cooled lava Land is made
And during disasters brave Hearts are portrayed
‘Cause, ya, life isn’t always easy,
But if it were, wouldn’t God have called it Monopoly?

We Can

Sometimes
Life just doesn’t go how we’d like it to

You know those days when nothing you do seems to go right and although you try with all your might you just can’t seem to recover?
Well, we run late, we lose stuff, we forget appointments, the dog eats our homework… sometimes it’s just “one of those days”. It’s a sad reality, but everybody has them now and again.

However
The good news is it isn’t the end of the world
And we have the power to change it!

We can make today one of those good days, we can overcome whatever this life has thrown our way, and we can take an unexpected mishap and turn it into something grand!
So just take those lemons (or apples, or exotic pointy-things) and make a little lemonade, and you may be surprised; it could be the best lemonade you’ve ever tasted!

Now let’s make today one of the best days ever
No matter what
Because we can handle anything!

The Rhythm of Hope

                             up

                                       must
            goes
                                                     come

What                                                        down

                                                                         when
                            tock               time

                             must           ticks
                              it

When
             the                                                                                            rise
                     sun                                                         must
                              sets                                              moon
                                                                    the

                                         rise                   they

                              tides                                      must

                  when                                                             fall

When you    breathe in   you must    breathe out   again…

That is the rhythm of life, the beat to which we live.
So wouldn’t you think that if bad things happen, good must follow?
Our problems will improve if we wait it out long enough to see it come back down to us, to hear it tock, and feel God’s blessings exhale against us. Just as long as we keep believing that life will improve and keep up that rhythm of hope!

Everyday Blessings

Every day is filled with blessings; from the big things like a much-needed job interview, to the smaller ones like having an extra twenty to go see a movie. They come in all different shapes, sizes, and colors but no matter how small - even down to the very breath in our lungs - it’s all a blessing! Hmmm, like (just to name a few):

Clean air to breathe
Fresh water to drink
Sunlight smiling down upon you

Those are blessings!

Friends who make you laugh
A Family who loves you

They’re blessings, too!

You may have to look for them, but they’re all right there just waiting for you. You might have to use a magnifying glass, or maybe even a microscope, but if you search hard enough you can see all the little gifts which the Lord leaves for us to find!

And guess what…

I just found today's blessing!
That I get to share this with you

You Know What’s Great?

You know what’s great about a rainy day?
It’s the perfect opportunity to curl up inside a cozy blanket and read a good book.
Aaaand,
Your car gets a free washing!
Aaaaaaand,
The flowers are getting quenched, so they’ll be all colorful and perky come tomorrow.
Aaaaaaaaand,
The sunshine (when the tempest moves on) is the absolute sweetest of all!
Aaaaaaaaaand,
you know what else?

Storms never linger for long and the sunlight burning just behind those clouds will eventually break through again, bringing with it bluer skies and dryer weather! So even if the rains are falling where you are, just remember that if you wait long enough one good breeze will part the drizzle and the rays will smile down upon you again.
Just wait and see!

Can You Feel It??

Today is gonna be a good day!
I can see it in the sun shining outside my window,
the wind combing through the trees,
and the clouds drifting in the sky.
I can feel it in the breeze brushing my cheeks,
the sand tickling my toes,
and the laugh itching in my throat.
If you look closely enough every inch of this day is good,
down to the very tick of a second!
Don’t you feel it, too?

Nutmeg is Currently Unavailable

If you’re reading this I can’t come to the blog right now for I am currently lounging on a remote, tropical island somewhere in the Gulf, yes probably in a cabana, savoring an ice tea.

Please do not send a rescue squad!

I have not been marooned here but will get back to you as soon as the sand, sun and surf have deeply penetrated the Heart, Soul and Spirit of this overworked mind and body

(Hmm, unless I encounter pirates, of course, then I’ll naturally be a while longer, but promise to return with a couple swashbuckling tales to tell! Lol, jk)

I may come back to the real world looking a bit tanner, but that is a risk I am willing to take, and if the monkeys would give me back my pen I might have some new posts to share!!

So just leave a message at the beep and I’ll see you when I see you!!
Happy, reading y’all!

Psalm 118:24
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Our First Drop in the Half Filled Glass!

Alright, this is it!
This is our first, official, positive thought in the Glass Half Full segment! So you'd better get your shades on and prepare to look at the sunny side of things, cause here we go! .......................

Sometimes, life gives you lemons, so you just have to make lemonade and have a picnic.
Other times, it might give you a pineapple, but then you can make a smoothie.
If it gives you an apple, hey, go ahead and make a pie.
J
But, on occasion, life gives you some exotic, prickly fruit with spear-like spikes that looks totally inedible and no matter how hard you whack on it, it just won’t crack.
But keep whacking!
J
For, underneath all the thorns, you’re bound to find it's the sweetest snack of all, cause even the hardest shell of the hardest coconut will eventually yield something delicious.
J
Me? I like lemonade, so thankfully life gives lots of lemons!

And this concludes your first, fruity, positive thought for the day, but don't worry, this is only the beginning!
