April Showers Brought Me Flowers

Lately, since my semester has ended and summer is finally here (can I get a "whoop whoop!"?), I've been stretching my creative abilities. One of my goals this summer is to either write or paint something new every day, but I have a little problem. I've become bored with plain old paper; it's just too small! So in my search for a larger canvas, my art has since spread elsewhere... teehee ;) In addition to my Dragon here is my latest mural:

These Hibiscus flowers are done with acrylics

They represent the Father

The Son

And the Holy Spirit

And presto, a little Hawaii in Southwest Florida, lol.

It's that moment

when the clicks and trendsetters slam the door in your face

 and suddenly you find yourself standing on the outside

looking in on a world you feel you’ll never fit into.

 Yeah, you try, 
                          but it doesn't matter if you iron your curly hair,

or use makeup to cover up your scars and blemishes...

No matter how hard you try to look like them,

you feel like you still stick out!

And, suddenly, you’re scared to be who you really are on the inside, outside.

BUT

Isn’t the whole idea of being individual people to be just that: individuals?
Not carbon copies.
Originals!

 

After all we have a right to express and exercise our individuality!

You know...

If we all just accepted ourselves the way we are

 

And why do we care so much about what they think of us?

Why does their criticism matter anyways?

 

After all

The only person you should be is

You!

The Truthful Art of Beautiful You

You were created special;
Down to every hair, every lash, and every freckle.
Your personality is more colorful than a painter’s palette,
Unique, magnifique, you're the best the Artist has dreamt of yet!
He envisioned you, He sketched you, and at last He stepped back and said:

“Critiques will judge you and the World may smudge you,
yet to Me you are a masterpiece.

Beautiful you are, an art show star, and you're at last complete.”

Make Way for Sunny Skies

It never ceases to amaze me how

No matter how gray and rainy
the day may begin,

God can take it
and make it sunny again!

When I woke up yesterday morning it was just that; a stormy, depressing mess outside. Yet, today, the sun has emerged to peel back the gloom off the sky and the breeze is fresh and sweet!

It’s just like in life.

If you have a problem,

if you’re living through a gray patch of hardship,

just wait a little longer

and hold on to your faith a little stronger,

He will turn your storms
into sunny skies!
