Dancing in the Deluge

If you want to dance in the rain, you can’t fear the thunder.

You have to take that risk of getting wet,
 of putting yourself out there,
of stepping in the puddle to see how many ripples you can make.

And when the thunder crashes overhead and lightning rips the clouds, don’t go running back inside.

Because Jesus is right there with you, holding your hand with every step you take.

There’s no freer feeling in the world than dancing in the deluge,

But to do that you just have to get your feet wet,

Do You See...?

Do you see the sky above you?

It’s as open as your personality

See the ground beneath you?

It’s as steady as you are

Feel the sun shining down upon you?

It’s as warm as your smile is

Feel the wind combing through your hair?

It’s as graceful as you are

See the flowers in that field?

They’re as beautiful as your heart

And all these things are true

About open, steady, warm, graceful, beautiful you!

An Enduring Truth

You may feel like you’re too weak to hold your head up high,

Your wings are clipped and you just can’t fly.

You may feel like you’re too tired to take another step,

And your will has lost its pep.

The doubters laugh,

And the mockers mock,

And their lies just drag you down…

But inside you, there’s power you haven’t found!

Inside you, there’s the strength to hold your head up high,

Your wings aren’t clipped; you can fly!

You can take that next step,

Cause your will has lots of pep.

So keep moving forward!

Adapt and overcome!

Even though, yes, it’s hard,

Your war is almost won!

You may feel like the world is crashing in on you,

You may feel like this is more than one soul can take.

But what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,

And I promise you won’t have to endure much longer.

Because you’re courageous, determined, and powerful, too,

And that’s the truth about you!

A Courageous Truth

You are strong and courageous, you are able. You belong, you’re stupendous, you are stable. That will inside you, set it free - you know - that desire you have to be all you can be? Don’t hold yourself back! And never doubt. Instead, that spirit inside you, go ahead let it out! Cause you can be whoever you want, so don’t let your doubts rise, for it’s your will they might stunt. Just let your inner strength flow and then you’ll see, too, you can do anything so just be courageous you!

An Imperfect Truth about Beautiful You

Flaws.

    We all have them, little things about ourselves we wish we could change. How we look, what we weigh, how we walk or the way we talk, and we often find ourselves thinking: “if only I was more like him or her”. Yet no matter how many diet pills we take or creams we smear on we never look quite right.

    Honey, that reflection in your mirror doesn’t show the real you.

    Inner beauty, the beauty of a loving heart, cannot be reflected on glass. It’s reflected in your kind actions and that smile you hand out, it shines from your soul, an ever-burning light. Its not the zits on your face or the size of your waist that makes you who you are, it’s what’s on the inside that counts. You are who you are and that is beautiful just how you are, right now, this very minute.

    And you know what else?

    Jesus loves you. He loves you no matter what size dress you wear or how you do your hair, His love is unconditional, right and fair. He accepts you when the world grows cold, and He loves you just the way you are and the way you are is beautiful.

That, sweetheart, is the truth.
