Anything worth doing will have struggles. But anything worth the struggle is worth doing ~ Megan Finsel

Remember that Moment...

When you were a kid
And your favorite song would come on the radio,
the sun was coming in with the breeze
through your open bedroom window,
And you just couldn’t help but
Start dancing around like crazy?

You didn’t care if you looked silly or felt ridiculous and it didn’t matter if you could dance well. You were letting the music move you and just having fun!

Sounds pretty good doesn’t it?
Do you miss that freedom like I do?

In this fast-paced, high-tech, heavily-caffeinated world in which we live, we need a little more of this kind of fun! So, for all you college students pounding the Starbucks and trying to meet those requirements, to the hardworking men and women of the corporate world doing everything to keep your jobs, and even to the CEOs of big-buck businesses:

Turn on the radio and for one song
(or more if you like!)
stand up and dance around like you used to do as a little kid.
Just totally let loose and jam out to your favorite tune!
Let yourself revert back to those PB&J days.

Because these little moments are where

For a heartbeat you can regress

And 19,

                                20,

 Or even 30-year-olds

Can become 9,

2,

Or 3.

No work,
No deadlines,
Nothing attaches you to the real world.

So just free yourself and release your inner child!
Go ahead, I dare you to dance J

What If What?

Worry says:
"what If I don’t make it?"

"what If something happens?"

"Maybe I should play it safe and just stop now."

But Faith says:

"When I make it, something great will happen!"

"So I should take the risk, because He will keep me safe."

"I can’t stop now!"

On your long drive to your destiny the "what ifs" of life will tempt you to stop, quit and give up the fight. But the good news is we have the ability to keep going! There will be potholes and pitfalls, and you may get flat tires, but if you just keep driving, one mile at a time, and never give up you'll get where you're going! After all, how does a journey of a thousand miles start?
...

Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the Lord,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you  hope and a future.”
...

So this goes out to you who may need a little more encouragement right now:
Keep Going!

B.Tru.2.Who.U.R

I am a summer rain ...  serene.
I am a hurricane ...  a powerful being.
Unstoppable as lava ...  my creativity keeps flowing.
Constant as the galaxy ...  my Dreams keep on going.

But when I look in my mirror what do I see? A wilted little wallflower reflected back at me. Yet the person I’ve been on the outside does not reflect the truth within. That timid little creature is not who I really am.

    Shrunken by lies,
                                             belittled
and judged,

we’ve all worn the stain of society’s smudge.

Opinions, they have no real effect.
And insults? They’re really a foreign dialect.

The fog is clearing from my mirror and at last now I can see,
That what others say and think should not influence me.

Because we have the power to determine our own Destiny;
We have the drive to fulfill our call,
and we're not flowers growing against the wall.

So this is who I choose to be:

I am the tides ... untamable.
I am the skies ...  uncontainable.
Strong as a child ...  I wear my Heart on my sleeve.
I’m not afraid to be the real me.

J

But the true question is still to be asked, although I’ve made my choice at last.

In the war of individuality,

Who will you decide to be?

B.Tru.2.U.rself

Ooooookay, I’ve been thinking lately and I have a question for you:

How often do you hide your true personality?
How many times do you cover your smile
or change your outfit cause you’re scared of others’ opinions?
How often do you try to “fit in”?
(Alright, so I have three questions for you, lol)

This is something that’s just been on my heart lately. I know what it's like, I’ve been there, when you feel like you have to change yourself into something you're not just so you can fit in. It's hard when you're left on the outside looking in on a world you long to be a part of... but then again it's even harder to try and hide the person you are so you can be on the inside, too.

I say enough!

We must be true to who we are,

and stop trying to be something we aren't,

and start honoring the things that make us unique.

We are all different for a reason, I mean, no one tells the snowflakes they all have to match! Its time to

be true to ourselves,
our personalities,
and everything that makes us beautiful.

What about you?

I know I can't be the only one who's ever felt like they should change themselves, or been in a situation where you're suddenly left standing on the outside looking in. If you've ever been the "new kid", an outcast, or can relate to this dilemma in any way, I'd like to know: what do you think?
